Just met up for a few beers with an old friend.
Discussed former associates and weirdly politics.
Within an hour, we’d worked out how to fix the country.
Our party is going to be called the ‘Representative party’ and the symbol will be a couple of purple cherries.
This is because our policies will be ‘cherry picked’ from any/all other parties standing.
The Conservatives policy on immigration’s good? That’s our policy.
Labours policy on crime makes sense? That’s our policy.
The Lib Dems policy on education’s clever? That’s our policy.
This means we have to do no planning but instead just research other people’s ideas.
If they’re sound, we’ll use them.
Can we count on your vote?

Sounds logical, so why not - count me in!

Thanks Munzly.
Now if we can only raise the £2000 odd to fight each seat.
I forgot to mention that we called ourselves the 'Representative party' because we re-present other peoples ideas.
...You probably worked that out for yourself though.

Can I offer a few ideas on original policies as well? Or is that not allowed....

Heresy!
Actually, if I were to be serious about it, I would hire educated and altruistic people to plan economically sound policies.
The real problem would be that these policies, though good for the country would invariably be unpopular with the general population.
Have you ever considered standing for government?

Only as an anarchist!
It's just that my pet policy idea at present is that there should be a secret ballot in the house of commons instead of lobby voting.
MPs would then only disclose their voting to their constituents at a later date, well after the time when the gov'mint could take childish revenge - a month should do it.
That way the individual MPs could reflect the views of their constituents rather than the party, and it would reduce the power of the party machines and make the whole thing more accountable to the people rather than the party leaders and their more influential party members.
Wadda'ya think?

I think that the wrong people are running the country and the only alternative we have are more wrong people.
...MoreWrongs are running the country!

Lobby voting is bad but secret ballots though better are still suspect.
I read a good quote recently:
'No matter who you vote for, a politician always gets in.'

An unfortunate truth!

You have my vote!
After all this years, one political idea suddenly makes sense!

Thanks Sven.
Unfortunately foreigners can't vote.

If you embrace the MRLP policy of putting luminous powder in dog food, I'll vote for yer...
